Injury to a Child, Elderly, or Disabled Individual under Texas Penal Code § 22.04 is a serious felony offense that carries severe penalties based on intent and severity. Intentionally causing serious bodily injury to a child under 15 is a first-degree felony (5–99 years). Intentionally causing bodily injury (not serious) is a second-degree felony (2–20 years).
