⚖️ Texas Law — Charge Details
Up to life in prison (for damage over $300,000)
Criminal Mischief under Texas Penal Code § 28.03 involves intentionally or knowingly damaging or destroying another's tangible property, tampering with property to cause loss, or making markings on property (graffiti). Penalties scale by the dollar amount of damage — similar to the theft scale: under $100 is Class C; $100–$749 is Class B; $750–$2,499 is Class A; and higher amounts are felonies of increasing degree. Offenders may also face civil restitution.
